Last night I fixed some wiring sins and tossed exhaust on the CX500 and took it for its first ride since it was stolen last year!
It sounds great. Slow as balls and has no tag or lights so... safety first?
One problem is that I appear to have put the water pump back together wrong, which I didn’t realize was possible but after googling it seems there are some washers that require special attention and one that requires re-annealing.
Oops. Anyways...
Need to figure out a shroud for the wiring harness.
Going to 3d print a plate that goes here and holds the keyfob. Check out my fancy integrated start button!
Need to pull this somehow.
The electronics used to live here. They have been mostly moved. Need to figure out how to mount a fender back here.
This tire is toast lol
Bonus pic of a dirty Syclone.

I like the dent in the tank, it adds some character. The whole bike looks cool but that open rear wheel would scare me. Good luck finishing it up.

I’m almost tempted to paint it and leave the dents there, lol.

That looks very awesome actually...definitely getting a bit if a fender on the rear wheel might be an idea....I would be worried about things coming up and hitting you.
Turn signals shouldn’t be too hard....you going to use the originals? If not I imagine you can find some on Amazon or Ebay that would do the job.

I have an LED turn signal/brake light thing for the rear and I’ll be reusing the OEM fronts as soon as I figure out this wiring disaster.

I think that would tell a story at least. Unless the plan is to make it perfect, the dents would add to the whole stolen and returned and rebuilt vibe. The blue looks great with the brown seat too.

I’m wanting to go with orange, actually.

Good luck with the wiring!

I think it looks great, the blue and brown is a fantastic color combo. The dent adds character and I’d personally go for a very subtle rear fender bc it looks pretty good without one.
